Our bags are sturdy, designed
with
an extended life that keeps them in circulation
and out of landfills.
RECYCLE
When our bags do finally reach the end of their
usefulness, they
all can be recycled.
Recycling facilities sort the paper and plastic products they
receive into two groups — pure materials and cross-contaminated
materials. Our Y2K totes are considered “pure” because they are
made of polypropylene with no additional materials to be
recycled.
On the other hand, some of our other products
fall into the crosscontaminated category, These bags contain
plastic buckles, metal snaps and Velcro closures that must be
separated. But once these materials are separated, they also can
be recycled.
Individual recycling
facilities have varying policies regarding the materials they
will process. So it is important to check with your local
facility. |

tough enough to be used and reused. Then they can be
recycled. And best of all, if they do end up in
landfills, there they undergo biodegradation. Here’s how
the two-stage process works: first, heat, sunlight and
mechanical stress trigger oxidative degradation, which
turns the plastic into molecular fragments. Then, the
smaller oxidized molecules are converted into carbon
dioxide, water and biomass.
